If you have already read The Healing Path of the “Throat Chakra: Integrating the Censored Self” you already know that the throat chakra moves spirit into matter through sound … and silence of course. If you haven’t read that piece yet I recommend starting there and then returning here for some practical tools and guidance to start making the most out of this incredible technology within you.
If you’re new to this series, note that when we engage in the healing paths of each chakra, we become more aware of how a specific wound pattern has been unconsciously impacting our health and lives. Knowledge is power, so this awareness empowers us to become conscious creators of the destiny we choose. Each of the seven chakras holds a unique perspective, with an associated wound, a vice and a virtue. These themes can express themselves physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually in a multitude of ways seen and unseen.
When we’re unaware of what these themes actually are we classify them as diagnoses, call them disease, mental illness, or personality traits. We self-sabotage, get in our own way, and drift farther and farther from the unique purpose of our precious lives.
But when we become aware of the unconscious material hiding in the shadows of the metaphysical backdrop of the chakras, sustainable healing begins. We move from the shadow state of the chakra into its virtue and gain access to its gifts. We integrate another part of ourselves back into our psyche and we Become Whole.
At the throat chakra this means healing the wound of guilt, and in doing so we shift from a life of burden, scarcity and misunderstanding into one of freedom, prosperity and manifestation. Most of us who struggle with the wound of guilt are not the origin of the wound. Some of us were guilted first, or we witnessed others being guilted for expressing their truth, or maybe we were told stories about those who were punished for revealing their creative power, and when we heard those stories we remembered something old and deep in the collective psyche.
For some of us, the tales of witches being burned at the stake for knowing the ways of magic are not just tales. You see at the throat chakra we understand that spelling is not simply the ordering of letters to form a word, but it’s the use of words to cast spells and influence reality.
There are reasons why many of us are afraid of our power, and therefore when we use the magic wand of the throat chakra we must do so with a considerable amount of maturity and integrity.
